It is taller than my CRF, has bigger wheels, has a headlight, a bigger fuel tank (maybe I can finally finish an enduro now without running out of gas), but it is heavier by a good bit! I am not a 2-Smoker, but this could quite possibly convert me. Granted, I think it is worth more than the trade in on my truck. And that’s just sad. Does anyone need a kidney? *Kidney for sale!! Or will trade for 2017 KTM XC-W*

p.s. Thank you, Alfie, for the recommendation! There. Happy?

This year’s K.O.G. Poker Run benefits the Katherman Family and Lovers Lane flood victims.   Come out and show your support and GET DIRTY!  As you guys up here in the bay area know, it has been raining all week so we are not going to come out of this event clean!  YAY!

Shorai is donating a battery and charger set for the prize giveaway.  We won’t have a booth there as we are goin’ ridin’!  But if you need help, or have questions, come visit us at the Shorai van.

Monster Energy Supercross Oakland – Amerikuh!! F*** YEAH!!

supercross.png

****SPOILER ALERT****

We went to Supercross this past weekend in Oakland, which was awesome! If you can believe it, it was my first dirtbike event where I wasn’t actually riding. I know, right? Out of all of these years I have never gone to an offroad event as a spectator–ever. Roadracing, yes.  Many, many, many [sometimes painful] times.  We watch Supercross every time on TV so I was stressing about being able to see as well as I can see on the TV. It was a last minute decision as one of the girls in our office sannounced that the tickets were really cheap due to the threat of rain. So everyone in the office jumped on StubHub.com and the prices were going up as we  were searching.  We got a hold of some awesome seats Section 133/row33/seats 20/21 – this would be my go to seat if I ever went again..

And 47,061 spectators stood for the National Anthem.  Yes!  Take that, NFL.

And Tomac takes the win!  That boy has the voodoo; I don’t know how he pulled this off. He is on a tear, that is for sure!

p.s. And Yes, Oakland is everything horrible that you have heard about in the news.  I hate going there.  Sorry people, but if you want people to say things about your hometown, clean it up.  Although it is the Left you have to worry about, now.  There were 20 ft tall police towers in the parking lot at the event.  No need for it though because all the people at the Supercross event cared about was racing and beer.  You guys should pack up your towers and go to Berkeley.

The Beef-Bike Tariff

nobeefnobikes_sm

By now everyone has heard about the efforts by the Beef Industry to impose a 100% tax on 51-500cc EU bikes.   If not, here is a good article:

Will the US Really Put A 100% Tax on Small, EU Motorcycles? https://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/eu-motorcycles-and-us-beef

Request to Reinstate Action Taken in Connection with European Union’s Measures Concerning Meat and Meat Products: https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=USTR-2016-0025-0001

Quite honestly I don’t like the idea of our beef either so I don’t blame them for not wanting it.  No one wants hormones and antibiotics in their food.  But we in the U.S. consume it in large quantities every year (well, I don’t so much, but! ).  The unrelated ‘we’ll tax your bike if you don’t take our beef’ imposition is ridiculous.

The 70th Annual Cowbell Enduro at Middle Creek Was Fantastic!

cowbellenduro_muddyshoria

I swear to you, the folks with D36 and the riders are some genuinely friendly people.   I always felt that the Enduro and Hare and Hound crowds were much friendlier than MotoX, even friendlier than those in the Roadracing community.  But honestly, up north with D36, they are amazing.  Truly welcoming, helpful and just want you to have fun.  You can’t figure out the timekeeping?  NO problem, have fun (and stay out of the way of those who are trying to make it to the checkpoints on time).

WOO HOO! Shorai Is Sponsoring Us To Race the Cowbell!

shorai_zopimI am so excited : )  Now I have pressure to finish the race.  I heard it was super muddy in some places last time and a lot of the riders did not finish.   I watched some footage from 2015 and most were just puddles except one hill climb.  I hope if we have to cross the usual river we cross over when we go out there it won’t be too swollen.  I have never gone down while trying to cross but once when the rocks were super slippery, I almost did.

My biggest issue is an enduro computer; I have Checkpoint but it requires a speedometer alongside it.  Not sure why that couldn’t have been added, there are speedometer apps.  But I hope my battery will last that long and I will have to tape the case to the top of my handlebar pad.  I am not proficient with keeping time during timed enduros.  I am always late anyway, so at least I will have fun!

95 miles is a lot of miles, I hope I can finish the race.
